With the Super Bowl coming up you might be wondering what you’ll be doing to celebrate the big game. You might be lucky enough to have tickets, or perhaps you’re going to a buddy’s place to watch it? The Chinese Wish Lantern team are going to watch the game from our office and have a little Super Bowl party with our friends and work mates. There’s also going to be a release of Sky Lanterns of course! Seeing as it’s the most watched American broadcast we thought we should sit down and see what all the fuss is about. Most of us here follow other sports but we are just getting into NFL!
The Super Bowl attracts world wide fame due to the celebrities who perform at half time and the multi million dollar advertisements that air while the game is on. To get an ad spot while the Super Bowl will cost you millions even if your ad only goes for 15 seconds! Seems a bit ridiculous but when almost the whole nation is watching and even people from around the world have tuned in no matter what time of day it is for them, proves it’s worth every penny! It’s certainly the most expensive time of the year to start advertising!
One of the most famous Super Bowl half time entertainment acts was the Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake number which attracted world wide media attention when Janet had a major wardrobe malfunction. The NFL was so embarrassed by the incident that they banned MTV from providing any more half time entertainment.
