Everyone’s seen the Super Sweet 16 show on MTV where a spoilt teenager makes Mummy and Daddy buy the most ridiculous things for their oh so special 16th birthday. There’s usually a huge club booked out for the party with celebrity rappers and musicians who turn up to perform for the little brats. The girls usually fly to Paris to buy their outfits, have expensive caterers and at the end of the show Daddy “surprises” them with their very own car (usually a beamer) as the birthday present, even though their birthday party alone usually costs about as much as a small nation’s national debt.
In any case, the team at Wish Lantern decided to help out with a very lovely girl’s (Tara) Sweet 16 right here in Texas, and no she wasn’t on the MTV show, she was very down to earth! Tara’s mother phoned us and bought 50 pink Wish Lanterns for the party and asked if some of the Wish Lantern team would come along at the end of the night to help her guests launch them. We were more than happy to help them out! The party was beautiful and we had no troubles getting Tara’s guests into the swing of things, turns out 50 lanterns just wasn’t enough, as once her friends had let one lantern off they all wanted to release another one. It was magical to watch them sail off into the sky and Tara loved the fact that they were pink!
