We love Halloween, it gives us a chance to release our gorgeous orange lanterns! We also love carving pumpkins to put outside our office, so we thought we’d share our pumpkin carving knowlege with you this Halloween.
Step 1
Select a fresh pumpkin in a shape you like, it doesn’t matter if your pumpkin is low and round or tall and thin as long as its large enough to draw large features on.
Step 2
Draw a circle or hexagon on top of the pumpkin in preparation for making an opening large enough for your hand to reach through.
Step 3
Cut through the stem end of the pumpkin along your outline with a sharp knife or pumpkin-carving tool.
Step 4
Remove the stem end, which will act as a cap, making sure you scrape off any seeds or pulp.
Step 5
Scoop out the seeds and pulp from inside the pumpkin using a large spoon.
Step 6
Draw a pattern for the face on the clean pumpkin with a felt-tip pen, make sure you make the features large enough so you can carve them out!
Step 7
Follow your pattern as you cut all the way through the pumpkin.
Step 8
Gently push the cut-out features from the inside of the pumpkin and throw away the pieces.
Step 9
To create the glow, place a candle inside the pumpkin.
