When we heard our favourite mail man Martin was heading to Japan for a couple of weeks on a much needed holiday we leaped at the chance to give him some Chinese Lanterns to take with him.
Martin travelled to Sapporo a small town on the northern island of Hokkaido, best known for the Sapporo Snow Festival which attracts more than two million tourists every year. Much to our surprise, Martin wasn’t heading to Sapporo for the Snow Festival, turns out he’s an avid beer enthusiast, so along with three of his buddies from Texas, they headed to Sapporo to visit the Sapporo Brewery!
Martin’s friend has a brother who lives in Japan, so they really went to visit him, but they made sure they fit in a quick visit to the brewery along the way.
When we asked Martin if he’d had a chance to release any Chinese Lanterns he said he wanted to let one off outside the brewery but as he was standing in the street he nearly got knocked off his feet by a young kid on rollerblades, he said he got such a shock that he had to go back into the brewery for another beer to calm his nerves! Yeah Martin, sure you did…
