Camping with Chinese Lanterns

wish lanterns Nov 09The weather might be turning a little cold but that’s no excuse to pack away the camping equipment just yet! Camping in November doesn’t have to be miserable, if you pack well and choose a good camp spot you’ll have a marvellous time. If you have the time, try and check out some of these hot camp grounds across the United States:

Allegany State Park New York
Choctaw Lake Campground Ackerman, Miss.
Copper Falls State Park in Wisconsin
Fallen Leaf Campground California
Guadalupe River State Park in Texas
Juniper Springs Recreational Area/Ocala National Forest
Silver Spring, Fla.
Lake Michigan at Manistee National Forest in Michigan
Seneca Shadows/Monongahela National Forest in West Virginia
Steamboat Lake State Park in Colorado; Waveland Park in Arkansas

Otherwise if you want to stay in Texas, the Chinese Wish Lantern team can recommend Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park, Seminole Canyon State Historical Park and Garner State Park which also has cabins to sleep in if you don’t want to brave the winter elements.

Some camp sites may not allow you to release Chinese Wish Lanterns as they involve the use of a naked flame, so ensure you check with the Park Rangers before taking your lanterns in to the National Parks.
